This sake is named for the atelier in Obuse where painter Katsushika Hokusai made his famous ceiling paintings. Takai Kohzan, the 12th head of the Ichimura family, who ran the Masuichi-Ichimura Sake Brewery from the end of the Edo period through the start of Meiji had the atelier Hekiiken built for Hokusai. Our sake "Hekiiken" is easy to drink with a clear fruity flavor and a lively ginjo aroma.
